Research Comments: | Producer Joe Boughton remembers this session as “kind of a disaster.” At a 1993 IAJRC convention panel honoring Rudy he said, “But the point of this whole thing is Rudy Van Gelder and his discipline. These Condon guys were no dummies. They knew what they were getting into, as far as the alcohol. So what they did – they stocked up the night before … people were afraid to strike any matches around Dick Cary for fear the place would blow up.” |
