Research Comments:Ruppli’s Prestige Discography shows this date taking place in Clarksdale [Mississippi], but Donald Hill’s “Meeting Strange Faces: The Field Recordings of a Youthful Would-be-Anthropologist” tells of the session actually happening at “Rudy Van Gelder’s new recording studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey” in 1961. The album jacket confirms this.
