Research Comments:	Leonard Feather writes in his liner notes: “Finally there is Think Of One, another Monk piece with a surprising start: when the senior Monk recorded it in Nov. 1953 at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio, Rudy had little T.S., then not quite four years old, call out the numbers for the various takes. The childish voice you will hear announcing Think Of One is indeed T.S. himself at age three.” Feather is only partially correct. Monk’s session of November 13, 1953, at which Think Of One was recorded, took place at the WOR studios in New York City, not at Van Gelder’s. The boy’s voice clearly says “Thelonious Monk, Jr. – six thirty-two, take one.” So this snippet of tape must be from Sonny Rollins’ Hackensack session of October 25, 1954, which featured Monk on piano. This session included three tunes, one of which, More Than You Know, carried the matrix number 632.
