Research Comments:The first release on Prestige’s Moodsville label. Ron Eyre attended many Prestige sessions during this period. “Arthur Taylor was a fantastic drummer, and he was excellent with brushes and soft tones and so forth. But he had a habit of, at the end of a number – you know, when you’re sort of coming to the end, and Rudy’s bringing up the pots to get the soft tones at the finish of the set. And A.T. would be sitting at the drums, and be using brushes, and Rudy’d be sitting there with headphones on, bringing the pots up so he’d just get the delicate sound of the brushes. And then A.T. would drop his foot on the big drum: ba-ba-doom! And then the headset would lift off of Rudy’s head. And time and time again it happened!”
