Research Comments:	Herbie Mann: “I once called up Ozzie Cadena when I didn’t have my rent money, and I said, ‘I have this idea for a solo flute record. I’ll give you the publishing if you give me the advance.’ He said, ‘Great.’ I made up the tunes on the spot. I gave him the publishing, and I got more than enough to pay my rent. And the album came out as Mann Alone. He went for it, because he got an album for 250 dollars.”
