Research Comments:A rare appearance as a sideman by Miles Davis. In his liner notes, Leonard Feather commented on the track “One For Daddy-O,” saying, “After the performance has reached its clearly successful climax Miles can be heard asking for a reaction from the control booth. It need hardly be added that Alfred Lion got just what he wanted.” The tune previously titled “Alison’s Uncle” and credited to Nat Adderley has been discovered to be the Hank Jones composition “Bangoon.”
