Research Comments: | This was Cobb’s first leader date in three years (following a serious automobile accident in 1956), and his debut recording for Prestige. Producer Esmond Edwards remembers this session: “Arnett, you know, after the terrible auto accident he had, he was in pain all his life. And he was playing, and he was like sobbing between notes. It was such a pathetic, emotional thing.” |
