Research Comments: | Jobim told liner note author Norman Gimbel that it was not easy for him to leave his pleasurable home in Rio, and that he did so only in order to see that his songs were properly recorded. “The first recording of a song,” he said, “is the seed from which the song will grow. I come here to plant seeds.” Some of these tracks were recorded on either May 23, May 24 or June 15, 1967. |
