Brookmeyer remembers this as a “kind of aborted date … one of those days, I think, when you go in and record and it didn’t work.” This same quartet reassembled at Webster Hall in New York City on June 29 and recorded an album of Alec Wilder’s music, 7 x Wilder (Verve V6-8413). |
