Research Comments:This was a party-time sing-along album recorded at bassist Jerry Bruno’s tavern in Sparkill, New York – a follow-up to Costa’s previous Music to Break a Lease (ABC-Paramount 107, recorded at Capitol Studios in NYC). Bob Callan was a disk jockey with a show called “The Record Shop” on WMCA in New York. From his liner notes: “We proudly present Don Costa and his Free Loaders, plus the writer of these notes who sneaked into the session when no one was looking. The market has been flooded by record albums lately making all kinds of wild claims – Music for People Who Hate Music – Music to Read By – and so on. We make no such silly claims … only that this set is guaranteed to move you – from any given address …”
