Research Comments: | Ozzie Cadena remembers “On the Opus de Jazz session, between tunes, somebody had a joint. And lit the joint up, and somebody else says, ‘Hey, be cool, ‘cause Rudy and Ozzie, or Ozzie and Rudy, or whatever, don’t dig what’s happening.’ You know, that kind of scene. And we heard them. And so like, I felt that they’d know we heard them. So I came out into the living room and said, ‘Hey Bags – or Milt – what the hell kind of shit is this? You got seven guys here, and only one joint?’ That’s all I said, just to smooth it off.” |
