Research Comments:Producer Don Schlitten created the Lively Arts Series on Prestige. He recalls this session with Burgess Meredith: “There’s one part of the story where [the protagonist] listens to his wife, who, unbeknownst to him, is a marionette, or a robot, or a talking doll. So when he listens to this creation – Rudy came up with this great idea of putting in a noise, so it sounds like motors are whirring. And what he did is went, first of all, ‘How we gonna do that?’ And he came up with the idea of going inside one of his machines and putting a cardboard next to something that was rotating, so it got that ‘pt-pt-pt’ kind of a sound. It sounded like the ticking of a machine, very subtle. And it was definitely an addition to the project. I was very pleased with that.”
Status Notes:This session is confirmed but missing information (e.g. personnel, song titles, exact date, producer, etc.).
